Zarzio is a biosimilar medicine that contains the active substance filgrastim. Filgrastim is a type of protein known as a colony-stimulating factor (CSF). It belongs to a group of medicines called cytokines and works by stimulating the bone marrow to produce more white blood cells (neutrophils). These white blood cells are crucial for fighting infections and maintaining the body's immune defenses.

How to Use:

2. If you are administering the injection yourself at home, ensure you have received proper training from your doctor or nurse on how to prepare and inject the medicine.
3. Do not shake the syringe vigorously as this may damage the filgrastim protein.
4. Allow the pre-filled syringe to reach room temperature for at least 30 minutes before injecting. Do not warm it in any other way.
5. Clean the injection site with an alcohol swab before injecting. Vary the injection site each time to prevent soreness or irritation.
6. Dispose of the used syringe immediately after use in a puncture-resistant container, as advised by your healthcare provider.
7. Always follow your doctor's instructions precisely regarding the dose, frequency, and duration of treatment.
