Caution & Warnings
- Strictly a Prescription Only Medicine (POM) and should only be administered under medical supervision.
- Exercise extreme caution in patients with known hypersensitivity to Norepinephrine or any excipients.
- Closely monitor patients for potential adverse effects such as hypertension, bradycardia, arrhythmias, or peripheral ischemia.
- Avoid extravasation at the infusion site, as it can lead to local tissue necrosis; ensure proper venous access and promptly treat any signs of extravasation.
- Not indicated for use as the sole therapy in patients with hypovolemia unless used as an emergency measure to maintain coronary and cerebral perfusion until blood volume replacement therapy can be initiated.
- Discontinue the infusion gradually to prevent acute hypotension (rebound hypotension).
- Use with caution in patients with pre-existing cardiovascular disease, hyperthyroidism, or diabetes mellitus.
