Caution & Warnings
- Do not use in patients with second or third-degree atrioventricular (AV) block (unless a pacemaker is present), sick sinus syndrome (unless a pacemaker is present), or known hypersensitivity to Adenosine.
- Use with extreme caution in patients with asthma or other obstructive lung disease, as it may cause bronchoconstriction.
- Transient adverse effects such as flushing, chest discomfort, dyspnea, and nausea are common but usually resolve quickly due to the drug's short half-life.
- Close cardiac monitoring is essential during and immediately after administration due to potential for transient bradycardia or asystole.
- Not effective for converting atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation, or ventricular tachycardia.
