How to Use

It is crucial to follow your doctor's instructions precisely when using Tiotropium EVA 18mcg Capsules. Do not swallow the capsules; they are for inhalation only.

1. Ensure your inhaler device (e.g., HandiHaler) is clean and ready for use.
2. Separate one Tiotropium EVA capsule from the blister pack immediately before use.
3. Place the capsule into the designated chamber of your inhaler device.
4. Close the mouthpiece firmly until you hear a click.
5. Press the piercing button on the device to create small holes in the capsule, allowing the medicine to be released.
6. Exhale completely away from the mouthpiece.
7. Place your lips tightly around the mouthpiece and inhale deeply and steadily through your mouth until your lungs are full. You should hear or feel the capsule vibrating.
8. Hold your breath for as long as comfortable, then remove the inhaler from your mouth and breathe out slowly.
9. Repeat the inhalation process if necessary to ensure all the powder is inhaled.
10. After use, open the inhaler and discard the empty capsule. Do not wash the device with water; clean it with a dry cloth or brush as per manufacturer's instructions.
11. Use once daily at the same time each day for optimal results.

Caution & Warnings

• Not for Acute Relief: Tiotropium EVA is for maintenance treatment only and should not be used for the rapid relief of acute bronchospasm or COPD exacerbations. A fast-acting reliever inhaler should be used for acute symptoms.
• Paradoxical Bronchospasm: As with other inhaled therapies, paradoxical bronchospasm (sudden worsening of breathing) may occur and can be life-threatening. If this happens, discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention.
• Hypersensitivity Reactions: Immediate hypersensitivity reactions, including angioedema, urticaria, rash, and pruritus, may occur after administration.
• Eye Contact: Avoid accidental direct contact of the capsule powder with your eyes, as this may lead to precipitation or worsening of narrow-angle glaucoma, eye pain, discomfort, blurred vision, or halos. If eye symptoms develop, consult a doctor immediately.
• Urinary Retention: Use with caution in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma, prostatic hyperplasia, or bladder-neck obstruction, as anticholinergic medications may worsen these conditions.
• Renal Impairment: Use with caution in patients with moderate to severe renal impairment.
