Gonal-F 450 IU/0.75 ml Pre-filled Pen contains Follitropin alfa, a recombinant human Follicle Stimulating Hormone (r-hFSH).
This medication is primarily used in fertility treatments to stimulate the development of follicles in the ovaries.
It is designed as a convenient pre-filled pen for subcutaneous injection, making administration easier for patients after proper training.

How to Use

1. Ensure the Gonal-F pen is removed from the refrigerator approximately 30 minutes before injection to reach room temperature, if advised by your doctor.
2. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before preparing the injection.
3. Attach a new, sterile injection needle to the pen, following the instructions provided with your pen.
4. Dial the prescribed dose as instructed by your healthcare provider.
5. Choose an injection site on your abdomen or thigh, and clean the skin with an alcohol swab.
6. Pinch a fold of skin and insert the needle completely at a 45 to 90-degree angle.
7. Inject the medication slowly by pressing the injection button until the dose indicator shows '0'.
8. Wait a few seconds before withdrawing the needle to ensure the full dose has been delivered.
9. Remove the needle and dispose of it immediately in a sharps container.
10. Alternate injection sites daily to prevent irritation. Always follow your doctor's specific instructions.

Caution & Warnings

• This medication must be administered under the supervision of a physician experienced in fertility treatment.
• Risk of Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS) exists, which can be severe. Monitor closely for symptoms like abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, vomiting, and weight gain.
• Multiple pregnancies (twins, triplets) are a potential risk with this treatment.
• Thromboembolic events have been reported with gonadotropin treatment, especially in women with a history of these conditions.
• Not for use in women with primary ovarian failure or uncontrolled non-gonadal endocrinopathies.
• Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Store in the refrigerator (2°C - 8°C). Do not freeze. Protect from light.
• Keep out of reach of children.
