How to Use
- Shake the inhaler well for 5 seconds before each use.
- If the inhaler is new or has not been used for more than 7 days, prime it by releasing four test sprays into the air away from your face.
- Exhale completely through your mouth to empty your lungs as much as possible.
- Hold the inhaler upright and place the mouthpiece in your mouth, sealing your lips around it.
- As you begin to inhale slowly and deeply through your mouth, press down firmly on the canister to release a spray of medicine.
- Continue to inhale deeply until you have taken a full breath.
- Remove the inhaler from your mouth and hold your breath for about 10 seconds, or for as long as is comfortable.
- Exhale slowly.
- If a second dose is prescribed, wait at least 1 minute before repeating steps 1-8.
- Clean your inhaler regularly as per the instructions in the patient leaflet to prevent blockage.
Caution & Warnings
- Airsupra is for rescue use only and is not a substitute for regular maintenance therapy.
- Do not use Airsupra to treat severe, acute episodes of asthma or COPD (status asthmaticus) that require immediate medical attention.
- Consult your doctor immediately if your symptoms worsen or if you need to use Airsupra more frequently than prescribed.
- May cause paradoxical bronchospasm, which can be life-threatening. If this occurs, discontinue use and seek immediate medical attention.
- Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disorders, including coronary insufficiency, cardiac arrhythmias, and high blood pressure.
- Hypokalemia (low potassium levels) may occur, particularly with high doses.
- Inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking, especially other beta-agonists, diuretics, or antidepressants.
- Do not exceed the recommended dose.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat.
